To begin with, I’ve shared the story of how I found out I was pregnant, what to expect during the first trimester of pregnancy, what to expect during week 13 to 18 of pregnancy, and what to expect during week 19 to 23 of pregnancy. Without any further adieu, let’s get started with what you can expect during week 24 to 30 when expecting.
It is recommended to have a glucose screening to check for gestational diabetes during week 24 to 28 of pregnancy. As a result, I had it schedule during week 24. In all honesty, it tasted like an expired version of Fanta orange with no gas. With that being said, it took me nearly five minutes to be able to drink it all. Thankfully, the results came back as normal! On the other hand, I was diagnosed with anemia. Therefore, my doctor prescribed a supplement of iron. Often times, it is important to listen to other women’s advice because they have far more experience. As it was my co-worker who suggested I get tested for iron due to my intense leg cramping.
I have gained 35 pounds by now and I honestly have no idea how it happened. As a result, I headed out on a shopping spree to purchase couple of new outfits. Mostly, all dresses since they are comfortable and easy to style. Also, the baby has been fluster kicking full force! At times it is very uncomfortable but I can hardly wait to see actual movements. On the other hand, I reduce walking to five times a week for around fifteen minutes. In all honesty, it has been helpful to rest two days with the hectic schedule I have.
Cravings: Breaded shrimp, Ceviche, Shrimp Cocktail
According to Baby Center, the baby is about the size of a rutabaga. As a matter of fact, this week I had to take a moment to seat back and relax. With that being said, I will listen to my body more as getting enough rest is important throughout pregnancy. In all honesty, this week I was tired most of the time.
Unfortunately, the leg cramps made a come back again throughout the night. At this point, all there is left to do is deal with them as they are a symptom of pregnancy. In addition, melasma has increased dramatically throughout the neck and armpits. At this point, I am not sure what else I can do to reduce the appearance or prevent a further expansion.
Baby Camilla started kicking hard enough for us to see the movements. Oh gosh, we are so excited to meet her when she is ready. On a positive note, we booked our maternity photo session that I can hardly wait for. Should I share couple of the photos from the shoot in a detailed blog post or incorporate one into the weekly update?

According to Baby Center, the baby is about the size of a head of cauliflower. In fact, I had symptoms for an urinary tract infection once again. By now, I have come to accept I will suffer UTI’s throughout this pregnancy and to treat them as soon as possible. To say the least, peeing has increased drastically and spotting future UTI’s will definitely be more challenging. Also, the second trimester is coming to an end! I can hardly believe how fast time goes by when you are expecting. Unfortunately, I started to notice my feet are swelling by the end of the night.
In my opinion, I think Chubbacca can hear baby Camilla’s heart in my stomach. Often times, he will rest his head on my belly to then begin licking. I have to admit it completely melts my heart because I know he will love the baby dearly.
By now, all I want to do is seat in the couch and watch TV throughout the entire day. With that being said, I have a gut feeling I will be gaining a significant amount of weight by the end of this pregnancy. I find it unbelievable that I have reached the third trimester already! Time flies when your having fun… As a matter of fact, I hit a level of emotions I had yet to experience in the past. In other words, I started to be a rollercoaster of emotions that ranged from loneliness, happiness, anxiety, ect.
Cravings: In all honesty, I want to eat anything and everything that is sweet.
According to Baby Center, the baby is about the size of a butternut squash. However, I was told that Baby Camilla is measuring about two weeks ahead. With that being said, it is safe to say I will be delivering a big baby girl. Also, there has been an increase in leg and feet pain. Therefore, I have been using a calming lotion along with a massage every morning and night to help ease the discomfort.
As most of you know I travel back and forth to visit my family back in Mexicali frequently. As a result, I started to look for the basic essentials Baby Camilla will need at my parents. In my opinion, it is much easier to have double of the essentials to not have to pack as much every time I go.
Cravings: I crave anything and everything!
Let’s just say I started to nest in full force without previous notice. For this reason, we purchased the crib, stroller, bedding, and other essentials for Baby Camilla. In all honesty, I just wanted to be as prepared as I possibly could before her arrival. Also, we purchase the crib to keep at my parents house since I will be spending a lot of time with them in the future. A dear friend of my was kind enough to let me have her previous stroller to keep at my parents as well. Lastly, the lotion and massage is helping ease the pain I have by the end of the night in my hands, legs, and feet.
Cravings: I want to eat all day long!
